Ghana’s preparation for the World Cup suffered a big blow on Tuesday after the West Africans lost 3-0 to French side Nice in a friendly match.

Marama Vahirua put the Ligue 1 side ahead in the 10th minute as his strike beat Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingston.

Nice then scored two more goals after the break through Belgian midfielder Roberto Bisconti in the 67th minute and Sebastien Roudet in the 75th minute.

The Black Stars coach Ratomir Dujkovic made a couple of changes to his squad at half-time and also replaced goalkeeper Kingston with George Owu coming in.

Ghana will name their final 23-man squad on Friday three days before Fifa’s deadline for the submission of team rosters.

Line-ups:

Ghana:

Kingston (Owu, 46min) - Quaye, Mohammed (Edusei, 60min), Eric Addo, Francis Dickoh - Derek Boateng, Derek Asamoah, Obodai, Agogo (Mensah, 46min) - Pimpong (Gyan, 46min), Agouda (Kwesi, 60min)

Nice - 1st half : Grégorini (c) - Grenet, Apam, Yahia, Jarjat - Diakité, Balmont, Roudet - Vahirua - Koné, Camara

Nice - 2nd half : Lloris - Grenet (Larbi, 60è), Jarjat, Yahia, Apam, Tchato - Dolci, Bisconti (c), Roudet - Bellion, Bagayoko

What does this mean?
-Probably very little, but atleast Ghana's confidence would be hurt.

You never know, maybe they will be pissed and want revenge!

Ghana was playing without Essien, Appiah, their winger Haminu Dramani and I believe their starting goalie. Not something to read into...unless you want to factor in the US' B team's performance against Germany (and Brian Ching's stellar play in that game).

I would guess it is similar to the same result as the USA v Germany match. It didn't look like Ghana had all their probable starters in the lineup and they are most likely trying to get the final 23 settled.

That's what I would say. Ghana is quality, I just hope they don't show that quality when we play them.

Ghana is the only team I know nothing about. I'm trying to get an understanding, but that's hard.

Though, if a relegation bound French team can beat them, who knows. But, if you compare USA-Germany of the recent fixture....who knows.

Ghana is the X-factor of the whole group. The US knows what to expect from Italy and the Czech Republic....Ghana though...is there any African experts?
