I still want us to use our regular lineup, you never know what can happen, and since we are out of CL, we must play our best in our last 2 competetions. I don't want to see Ribeiro in net.

I totally agree, but Co Adriaanse likes rotating the keepers with Portuguese Liga & Taça

Porto has been using the #2 goalie in taca games since i dont know when
its pretty much always been like that

still, I want us forsure to get the Taca, if we don't get the league we must get the cup, I say that because of Sporting, they are playing great, so we must play two steps ahead of them. WE need to use our regular starters.

FC Porto will travel to Madeira this week and get back to work on Wednesday night where they will play Maritimo in a Portugal cup quarter-final. Both teams have had great qualifying runs and deserve to be where they are. The dragons will walk into the Estadio dos Barreiros looking to continue their great run of form and move on to the semi-finals. As for which players Co Adriaanse will select is still unknown because Porto normally play their number two keeper and rest a few key players in cup games. Porto know they are up against a tough opponent and Maritimo are always a dangerous team to handle especially when playing in Madeira. The last time these two teams played each other in the Barreiros, Porto did not walk out with a win. It was a 2-2 draw back in week 6 of the Portuguese liga. The blue and white will have to enter this match playing strong football and taking control of the game early if they want to walk out with a win.

if so, i think it was because lucho commits less fouls than meireles

so it would have been worse for porto had he grassed up meireles to the ref lol

anyway once the ref has made up his mind, theres not much you can do i guess...

I would start Lisandro, yes he wasnt that great last game, but he is MUCH better than Ivanildo, he is so dangerous with the ball, he can run with it and cross, not like Ivanildo who does horrible step overs. Ivanildo should have been loaned out, I think he is going to turn out to another waste of talent on the bench.

i agree...Lisandro is much more developed and calm on the ball...and he doesnt purposely kick the balls into the stands.... like Ivanildo... but i think Adriano should start Manic

I don't think PDC cares :laugh, if the right offer is given...PDC will say yes no matter what team it is. Unless Diego has something in his contract that he chooses which teams he goes. If nothing comes up, just like VD said PDC will sit his ass.

Maritimo 1 - FC Porto 2

FC Porto secured a place into the semi-finals of the Portugal cup after defeating Maritimo tonight in the Estadio dos Barreiros.
Benni McCarthy scored the first goal of the night in the 21st minute and gave Porto the 1-0 lead at half time, but it quickly changed in the second half as the dragons found themselves a man down in the 48th minute after Pepe picked up his 2nd yellow of the night. Maritimo would receive a penalty for Pepe’s actions and it would result as a goal. Co Adriaanse made no mistake and quickly put on Bruno Alves for Anderson but that did not stop Porto from playing attacking football. Porto and Maritimo had many opportunities to increase the lead but both goalkeepers were on great form to deny the threats. On to extra-time the game went and Benni McCarthy would score the winning goal in the 96th minute.
At the end of the night FC Porto would celebrate a well fought emotional victory.

why are taca games, not aired as often as liga games?!

RTP have the license to show the games, but i think can only show 1 game

basically the league and cup have different rules as concerns tv rights etc

and different rules in other aspects too

thats why adriaanse got a 2 match ban for nothing, and people like bento/koeman can do what they like in the league and get no fines or ban :nod

the other three quarters are paid by Pinto da Costa.
