NO
do you seriously believe what newspapers tell?! It is typical that now, after we lost to Italy 4-1 everyone keeps saying "worst german team ever"...blablabla and the journalists questioning everything is "normal" if you lose that high. What i hate about it, is that every other good game is forgotten now  and it's easy to see only the negative side.
This defeat had lots of reasons, mainly it had to do with the form of the player. This team is not worse, not at all. If everyones fit, we have a very good team IMO. :nod

That will be determined based on their WC result. The EC2000 was terrible, EC 2004 was worse.

Even the team that made the WC final in 2002 was worse. And THAT should give us hope! :D

I think curent german team isn't the best and isn't the worst. It's still good solid team. Germany always proved their worth in WordCup. So we will see:nod

I myself believe this team is the second WORST in Germany's History. No proper strikers.. Klose, Asamoah & Podolski are not even close to Bierhoff - Klinsmann - Voeller - Riedel - Rummeniege - Mueller... etc.
Don't get me started about the back four. There is nothing German about them. Where are those days when the German defence had formidable reputation for stopping efficiently many attacks and building terrible raids from the back.
The midfield is the best thing we have. But Ballack has average colleagues. Schneider, Frings, Ernst, Deisler, Hitz & Borowski don't provide him with the proper assisstance (neither defensive to allow him to attack.. nor offensive to share to build a raid with him).
The worst German team ever was the 1998-2000 team.

Scorp do you even have the slightest idea what you're talking about?!?
Sorry, but you didn't moan when we played the Confed-Cup  Now everything is ****...I'm so sick of this negative view. If you'd watch the BL and our player then you'd know that they are nowhere near the 2nd worst team in Germany's history!
Sorry but this team is the best we had since 2002! There is so much more talent and creativity in this team than in our past ones since 2000! BUT they were all out of form against Italy!!!! And exactly that is my point. We have a very good squad when they're all in form.
I listed it in another thread that most of the player didn't even play more than 180min since the winterbreak! (Deisler, Schweinsteiger, Metzelder, Mertesacker, Lahm...) and this says it all IMO.
But stop thinking the player are bad, that is not right.

Timonator my friend.. I share your sympathetic feeling towards our team. But to tell U the truth we can't fool ourselves. What went on in the Italy game isn't just an occasional bad performance.. We played many bad matches recently. Romania, Slovakia, Netherland, Australia and most recently Italy. I think what happened in the confed-cup was the exception, not the other way around. We played exceptionaly well during the confed cup, but that's not the rule.

Here U said it yourself. Our NT is composed of players who aren't first choices for their clubs. Or are players in ****ty clubs. Look at Deisler, Metzelder, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Huth, Hinkel. And look at Podolski, Mertesacker and Jansen. It's a pathetic bunch.
And Klinsmann said it all when he announced that those players are the best that Germany has right now (implying that they can't do better).

i don't know.. i think 86 WC squad is quite average too.. only Littbarski and Rummenigge are well-known for non-german fans.. Voller was relatively new then, also Matthaus has not established as a great player until Euro 88..
