KEVIN KEEGAN could get his wish, as Peter Schmeichel has admitted he may consider signing a new deal with Manchester City. The Citizens chief said before Christmas that it would be a huge boost if the Danish veteran decided to extend his stay beyond the summer, but said the*choice was entirely up to the keeper.
Schmeichel`s present deal runs out in the summer, and he has deflected all talk of a new deal.
However, he finally admitted on Friday that he could be tempted to spend another season under Keegan.
The Dane said: "I do think about next season and it will just come down to how happy I am.
"It's a matter of whether I enjoy getting up for work and if I can perform at the level I expect.
"This season has not been easy as I have to work harder than ever before, but I'm enjoying it here.
"When I played for Manchester United the games were coming thick and fast and you never had time to enjoy what you were doing. Now it's different.
"We don't have that many games and you get time to think about what you are doing. I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed playing as much as I do at the moment in my whole career."
