Jeezzz what an awesome game! :clap :bowing That is football, and to see Werder stealing 3 goals of one of the best defences in Europe is simply amazing. :drinkbeer
Werder showed the typical german fighting spirit. When Juve scored the 2-1, they didn't give up, and tryed everything to score. :bowing
Klose is on form and nothing can stop him. After his serious shoulder injury, he played like he was never injured.
And Juve? Well i am a bit disappointed. They seemed to be not interested, or they thought Werder is an easy opponent...i don't know. But it was clear that they will score somehow...and they did.
All in all i think Werder fully deserved to win.

good to see bremen wins.. and quite an interesting score also!
but they are far from safe.. juventus will once more be the favorite in turin.. a 1-0 win will be enough for them..

Yes it will ge a tough match in Turin, but i m thinking that way:
Who thought Bremen could win against Juve?! Noone! (well don't include me :D) Most people thought they'd lose 4-0 or so!
They are in a good postition now :drinkbeer A draw is enough and I think Werder can make it :nod

i didn't see the whole game.. was frings played that good?
well if it's true then he better keep it up.. he's not been convincing for the NT in that central midfield role..

Congratulations lads for the deserved win. We had the chance to win this actually we had chances beside the two we scored but we simply wasted them. Bremen character is something to be respected because not many teams are able to snatch a game from us after we sntach it. It was 8 minutes from time and we were leading 2-1 and i thought its all over now for them but then Bremen surprised me with the come back. Bremen won today because of their character and not just their footballing skills i and i salute them for that. I just hope for another game like that in turin barring the result ;) and i hope those real merda fans were watching this to learn how football is being played. :) see you in two weeks..

Juve still favourites for me.
Bremen had 8 German players in the team-surely Klinsi has to play these guys.

· Tim borowski has a very big heart like that of Effenberg, Never say die. He deserves a place in klinsmann first 11. That guy is capable of scoring world cup winning goal
· Bremen had 8 German players in the first 11. No club left in the champions league can afford to use 8 players from one country and still beat Juventus
· Christian Schulz played well, but Germany has so many good left backs namely Jansen, fathi, Lahm. Am convinced he is still young and can play center half for Germany.
· Juventus are a very chance-less side, FC Koln can beat them. 3 chances in 90 minutes! Gosh! Don’t fear them in Torino, so many teams have won there : Liverpool, deportivo, manunited. Be the next, don’t be satisfied with a draw. If juventus were to spend 1 season in the bundesliga or premiership they will be relegated.

You haven't got a clue mate. Bremen had many chances and Buffon pulled off a couple of fantastic saves to keep them out. Bremen were the better team but their goals were rather fortunate, especially the two at the end. They only happened because of a slight loss in concentration. But to say Juve would be relegeted in Germany or England is pathetic. They've absolutely killed it in Serie A this season and it's the most competitive league in Europe. Next time think before coming out with crap like that.
And by the way, Liverpool never won at the Delle Alpi. ;)

I watched the match and I can't believe it.
Juve had many chances to score yet they wasted most of them.
On the other hand, Bremen managed to set that attacking game and were lucky to score in such a wonderful goalie (Buffon). Borowski & Frings were on fire.. and their tides drowned Emerson and Viera.
Looks like Bremen learned from their Barca lesson. They knew how to exploit their chances.

Well, I just hope that Wiese learns something out of this. Spectacular saves are not needed when it comes to CL! Football is not about a "one-man-show" He is an amazing goalkeeper, but his attitude will hopefully change after today.
:( Though, i must say i feel sorry for him, must be awful to be the one who made the mistake, that destroyed dreams of a whole team. :(

well it's quite disappointing.. but to lose on away goals rule to a team like Juve, it's nothing to be ashamed of.. but Bremen were leading.. ufff..
anyway they way they bowed out valiantly, i think can redeem themselves from that mauling by Lyon last year.. and shows the world what they are capable of..

screw the "luck of the Irish" I say the "luck of the Italian" Juve gets a gift goal to go threw today, and one against Bayern the other year, and not even mentioning the lucky Miliano's!
Wiese sure made a blunder but he pretty much kept Bremen alive in the game. The goals were always coming if not for spectacular saves from Wiese. Bremens defense in particular Naldo are rubbish quite honestly.
Bremen will never succeed in Europe with this kind of football, it's suicidal especially with the kind of players available to them. Playing in the Bundesliga against mediocre defenders is very different playing against some of the best defenders in Europe.
But I congratulate Bremen on a good performance they played aggressively in midfield.

Note to Klinsi...
It was sickening but still Bremen are a great club to have got this far with the limited finances they have and the smart signings they make.
Wiese will be a great goalkeeper and next season another great singing Clemens Fritz will RB for them and NT too and will be a very good player (he was brilliant on Saturday..against Bremen!).
Klose fails to score again against another big team.
Micoud and Klasnic are such clever players-cannot understand why both do not get playing time for their NTs.
Well played Juve-I think your name might be on the cup..:clap

Mar 8 2006, 08:04 AM
And they go trough on the rule of "away-goals"... Just get rid of that...
Maybe he'll put away this awful pink jersey after this match :)
OMG I had a wee laugh watching what Wiese did. Playing pretty well during the game and such a set-back in the dying moments. That was the most stupid goal I can remember in CL. Poor guy.
Guday
Mar 8 2006, 10:32 AM
Klose fails to score again against another big team.
Klose is never my favorite, this guy did nothing but backpassing similar to Maakay. He should never play outside BL. Kuranyi and Asamoah should be ahead of him in the NT.
And what the heck did Bauman do? He hardly ever touched the ball, Schaf:rolleyes: is an idi*t when it comes to defence, and had Wiese did not make those saves Juventus would probably win 5-1. Nobobody mark Nedved.
Valdez should have played instead of Klose, why Schaff subbed Klasnic is a mystery because he is the one of thorn in Juve backline. Schaf:rolleyes:
Oyomela(sp) look quite skillful but defensively poor, he has to improve on that. But I am impressed with his trickery down that flank.
Borowski is becoming Balla now - too cautios, and never attempted a difficult pass, I am disapppointed with this guy.

Mar 8 2006, 04:49 PM
Guday, what you say about Klose is wrong. He is the only striker with a German passport who has international credentials. He is CL class, even if his performances since his injury haven't been up to their usual standard.
Timonator
Mar 8 2006, 05:11 PM
Yep, I think Klose is a class player :nod even if he has a bad day, he works like an idiot for the team. :nod I totally agree with Blind Cross about the "away-goals" rule. They should get rid of this ****, it's not fair IMO.
So after I went angry to bed yesterday i m still angry! LOL I still cannot believe that such a mistake happened! They were with one foot in the quarter final...:ninja
Well we can't change it now. Next season they can try it again. At least this was prove that German teams aren't dead yet (apart from Bayern) I hope luck is on their side next time!
It was great to see that Werder played with 7 Germans :clap Schaaf is doing a good job IMO. Owomoyela and Schulz weren't bad at all yesterday :nod Borowski is out of form since he was injured in the winterbreak.
LOL Werders offside-trap worked great yesterday! :laugh
I only like Klose because he gives it his all in every match tracking back to defend but what Guday mentions is correct. Klose is not good enough to be considered world class, I can't recall him ever scoring against a big team, and that applies to the National Team too.

Why do you scold KLOSE whenever Bremen and Germany lose?Isn't Klose who has been the driving force for Bremen's success this season? He was injured on a number of occasions this season and even before the FIFA Confederations Cup back in June. Had he played all seasons for Bremen, it is quite simple to imagine the number of goals he could have scored. He returned from injury only a couple of weeks ago and is still fighting tirelessly for the team's success. On international arena, Klinsmann's play style is not suitable to Klose as he is well-known with the header.I can assure you that Klose can score 10 times out of 15 balls, which come to his heads. This had been proven in the Japan/Korea world cup where he scored five times on his heads in his first internatinal appearance. But today, Germany's play style is so hostile that it is neither defensive nor offensive.Hence, it is utterly pointless to make Klose a scapegoat for Bremen's or Germany's failure. Can you point out a single German striker better than Klose at the moment?

What kind of idiotic reply is this?
Juve deserved the win in Turin but if they play like they did over the last 2 legs they definately will not win the Champions League and that has nothing to do with being "unlucky"... looks like Viera is going to have to move again.

Hard Luck Wreder Bremen, U didnt deserve to go out like that. Dont see how people can blame the keeper, if it werent 4 him in the 1st place they could have easily lost by 4-5 goals... Dont the defenders get some blame??? But if anything was to go by this year I really hope W.Bremen make the champions league next season. Fantastic team to watch and must admit they did make juve look ordinary at times!!

Ahh Juve deserved to go through?!? Yeah right! I wonder if you saw both legs!
At home Werder was better in both halfs and dominated the game there. Only because of your individual class you scored 2 goals in Bremen.
And yesterday?! Werder played a better first half than Juve, though you dominated the 2nd half. So at the end werder played in 3 halfs better than you...!!! So that is why i think Werder deserved it to reach the quarter final.
You were lucky, because you have the individual class and got through because Tim Wiese made this big mistake in the end. To me, Werder was better overall and would have deserved to go through.
And i m glad that there're at least a few Juve fans who saw the actual match and at least there're some who can admit it was very lucky.
