98-00 it was horrible to see home games of TeBe. In 2. Bundesliga they had an attendance of ~3000 people, at least the half were away-fans.
I remember the match TeBe against 1.FC Köln in 1999, when TeBe was on 3rd place, around 2000 people were there and 500 of them were TeBe-Fans

I heard years ago TeBe had a project that would make them in the BL and the CL .They spent a lot of money but failed in the end. This reminds me of the boss of Chelsea...

Well, in short one can say that after the war TeBe took the place of Union Berlin as main rival to Hertha. and as there was no bundesliga before the 60's we can look at the Berliner championships...
1947, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1958 did TeBe become Berlin champions. As the plans to form the bundesliga became more advanced TeBe realised that they would not be able to compete on that level and slowly allowed themselves to reach a level more realistic to a club of their size.
As a curiosa I might add that TeBe by tradition was/is egarded as the main jewish club in Berlin and that their fans are generally considered left-wing nowadays (But they are mainly middle class kids really..)
