Nice one!

As a königsblau Schalkefan I´m "bonded" to der club (You might know this already) and appreciate your efforts, but you must all be nutters..:cool

Comments...A guestbook would be nice perhaps? I´m sure loads of local Nürnbergers would like to leave a greeting.

Well and truly completely off your heads, but good to know there are other Englishmen who follow German football.

BTW, Vale fans much more welcome than those smelly Stokie bastards! :)

Thanks for the responses.

Yes - we are mad!

Like the attachement Schwalker!

And Borrusia Wolf - obviously a well-balanced individual with such comments about the Stokies. We hate them!

Well, the bonds between Nürnberg and Schalke are amazing..considering that the we have almost nothing in common. Nürnberg is such a "quaint" and pictoresque city.

Gelsenkirchen ain´t....

Nobody has really ever explained the Freundschaft (is that what it's called?) between Schalke and 1.FCN.

Can you explain it to me... It might be nice to put it on the www.1fcnuk.com (http://www.1fcnuk.com) website.

Well, yes..It´s hardly a secret

It was around 1980 and Nürnberg played away in Mönchengladbach (I think), the nürnbergers had parked their cars outside the city to avoid trouble and after the game this young lady named Monika walked to her car when she noticed a small group of Schalkefans in the parking lot..This was a bit unsettling because our fans had a bit of a reputation. Monika was not to be scared though and stepped forward and was soon chatting with one of the Schalkers...Love was in the air :wub
They kept in contact but as her friends was all hardcore nürnberg fans they refused to let her meet any Schalkefans on her own, as for the Schalker, his mates suspected a ambush and refused to let him visit nürnberg alone..:laugh

This meant that soon there was groups of fans travelling between Bayern and the Rührpott on a regular basis which meant that these hardcore fans came to know each other rather well, then somebody suggested a party, those invited brought their mates and everybody got drunk, and somebody suggested that they should find some Bayern fans to beat up..they failed but they found an offlicense instead and soon it was "FCN and S04 against the world mate"..

I might add that the yearly encounters between our two clubs are always very festive..and have some nice tifos and afterwards there is a huge party.

Gelsenkirchen is the arse end of the Ruhrpott.

Dortmund and Essen aren't any better. The entire Ruhrpott is a ******* cesspool.

Thank you for the information Shwalker...

Sounds very romantic!!!

I hope you have a great party after the game next week (although I hope it is slightly better for Der Club then for Schalke)... We need the points.

We'll try to get to the game in Gelsenkirchen next season.

I really think you should know what you are letting yourself in for. Imagine the dirt, stench and squalor of Stoke City or West Bromwich Albion. Multiply this a thousand times and then you might understand what Schalke is all about. Don't let yourself get sucked in. They are evil, dispicable people! :nono

Besides, Robbie Williams is a Port Vale fan in England, and a Borussia Dortmund fan in Germany - support BVB!

Did I mention that Dortmunders are our local rivals...?

A place that makes Milton Keynes look exciting, it´s Dortmund that is...

I guess as 1.FCN are my number 1 German team there is already the link to Schalke...

But can't support anyone else as I have a one country/one team rule!!!!

Went to Dortmund last season to see Der Club draw 2-2 with them. Nice stadium.

I hear what you say about the Rhurpott Borussia Wolf... Had enough of that sort of thing watching Port Vale play at home and all over the West Midlands.

But we can't always help who we support. I was brought up supporting Vale and my wife's a 1.FCN fan. I guess things could have worked out a lot worse!

Hello Cluberer

I am a great Schalke Fan /member and season ticket holder.
but
when I lived in Nuermberg for some years and went to the Club.
That was in the 80ties

You know when someone talking about "the club" in Germany they talk about
1FCN
Your wife must know she is from Franken isnt she?!

and do me a favour and dont listen to people that call themselve wolves.
Hope my English is somewhat understandable

Nice website btw

Thanks for the comment OpaPritschikowski...

Your English is much better than my German!!!

My wife certainly is from Franconia - born in Nurnberg but brought up in the UK. She holds a German passport and 1.FCN are the team supported by her father and his family.

Hope Der Club manage to gain 3 points on Saturday but I also hope Schalke qualify for the Champions League. Good luck!

In the UK, 1.FCN have a growing band of supporters. Approximately 20 in our club at the moment... maybe more in hiding!

Hopefully we'll increase in numbers.

Thank you for acknowledging that fact...

Der Cluberer that I know would never accept that they are from Bayern!

Congratulations Schalke on the victory over Der Club. I hope you now go on to qualify for the Champions League, starting with defeat for HSV at Stuttgart.

Hopefully FCN can win the next 2 games against Duisurg and Koln.

Just get Marek back in shape and everything will be alright!...Der club is missing offensive players even if Robert Vittek had a good game.

Glück auf...;)

It looks like Mintal will miss most of the season now (maybe all of it).

Need Kiessling, Saenko and Vittek to carry us through.

With reference to my previous post in this thread:

1.FCN 3 MSV Duisburg 0

Vittek 3 (with assists from Saenko and Kiessling)

Looks like these three might make up for the loss of Mintal afterall!

Many Schalker supported the Club in Cologne cause we played sunday.
Perhaps some of us will go to the Frankenstadion on saturday on their
way to Munich on sunday.

Excellent. It would be something if we could get a result against Bremen.

I'm envious. I have to wait 4 more weeks until my next trip to Germany and the Frankenstadion - Nurnberg v Lautern.

Good luck in Munich.
